At the invitation of the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Hon. Njogou Bah, Minister of Works, Construction & Infrastructure and Hon. Alhaji Cham, Minister of Information and Communication Infrastructure of the Republic of The Gambia will visit Taiwan from Sept. 17 to Sept. 21, 2011.The delegation is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony of ;The Gambian Architectural Tailor-made Degree Program: at National Taipei University of Technology. The delegation will also call at Public Construction Commission, Executive Yuan, National Communications Commission, Institute for Information Industry, and Chunghwa Telecom Company. Moreover, the delegation will tour the National Palace Museum, Taipei 101, etc. Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Ssu-Tsun Shen will host a dinner in the delegation·s honor.Since the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the Republic of The Gambia resumed diplomatic ties in 1995, bilateral relations have been growing stronger each year. The two countries have undertaken various cooperation projects in the areas of infrastructure construction, medical care, public health and agriculture. The Gambia has been a staunch supporter of Taiwan·s bid to gain meaningful participation in the United Nations, World Health Organization, International Civil Aviation Organization, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and other international organizations.
