French National Assembly Delegation to Visit Taiwan

At the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Hon. Francois Brottes, Chairman of the Taiwan-France Friendship Group of the French National Assembly; Hon. Marc Le Fur, Vice-President of the French National Assembly; Hon. Jean-Claude Lenoir, Vice-Chairman of the Taiwan-France Friendship Group of the French National Assembly; Hon. Frederique Massat and Hon. Sandrine Mazetier, Members of the French Parliament, are to visit Taiwan from July 25 to 30, 2010.
During their stay, Chairman Brottes and delegates will be received by President Ma Ying-jeou; Vice President of the Legislative Yuan Tseng Yung-chuan; Minister of Council of Cultural Affairs Sheng Chih-jen; Minister of the Mainland Affairs Council Lai Shin-yuan and President of the “Evergreen” Group, Dr. Chang Yung-fa. Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Shen Ssu-tsun will host a welcoming luncheon. The delegates will also call at the Government Information Office and visit the National Palace Museum, the Museum of Jade Art, Taipei 101, World Trade Center, National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, and the King Car Spirit Castle as well as I-lan’s Orchid Park.
Chairman Brottes, a longstanding friend of Taiwan, has spared no effort in supporting Taiwan’s broader participation in international organizations. The delegates have expressed interest in the government’s most recent policies and the current situation across the Taiwan Strait. This trip, the third to Taiwan for Chairman Brottes and Vice-Chairman Lenoir, whereas the first for the other delegates, will provide them with the opportunity to better understand the latest developments in Taiwan.(E)
