The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has invited a six-member parliamentary delegation, led by Mr. Marek Benda, President of the Czech-Taiwan Friendship Group in the Czech Republic’s Chamber of Deputies, to visit Taiwan from November 29 to December 3, 2010.

The delegation members will call on Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Timothy C. T. Yang, and attend banquets held in their honor respectively by Minister of Finance, Mr. Lee Sush-Der, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Lyshun Shen. The members will also call at the Legislative Yuan, the National Security Council, the Government Information Office, the Mainland Affairs Council and the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Their trip will be rounded off with visits to the 2010 Taipei International Flora Expo, the National Palace Museum, Taipei 101 and other places of economic and cultural interest.

This visit will help the delegation members better understand the latest political, economic and cultural developments in Taiwan, as well as the current cross-strait situation, which will further enhance Taiwan’s bilateral relations with the Czech Republic.(E)
