Delegation of Polish Senators to visit Taiwan

At the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Senator Micha? Wojtczak, concurrently the Vice Chairman of the Environmental Committee of the Senate of the Republic of Poland, is scheduled to visit Taiwan from June 27 to July 1, 2011. Senator Wojtczak will be accompanied by Senator Jacek Swako? and Senator Stanis?aw Gorczyca.

The delegation members will call on Mr. Yung-chuan Tseng, Vice President of the Legislative Yuan, Dr. Shu-hung Shen, Minister of the Environmental Protection Administration and Mr. Ssu-tsun Shen, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs. To welcome the delegates, Legislative Yuan Vice President Tseng and Vice Minister Shen of Foreign Affairs will each host a luncheon in their honor. The delegates will also pay visits to the Government Information Office and the Warsaw Trade Office. In addition, the delegation will tour the Southern Taiwan Science Park, Taiwan Orchid Plantation, Bei-tou Incinerator, Taipei Public Library Beitou Branch, Luxgen Motor Co., Ltd., Motech Industries, Inc., National Palace Museum, National Chiang Kai-shek Cultural Center, Yangmingshan National Park, Taipei 101, among others. The Senators will also attend the traditional opera Legend of the Eight Celestials Crossing the Sea at TaipeiEYE.

This visit aims to enhance parliamentary exchanges between Taiwan and Poland and to provide the delegates with a better understanding of the most recent developments in Taiwan’s political arena, economy, environmental protection policies and current cross-strait situation. (E)
