Minister of Tourism and Culture of the Republic of The Gambia to Visit the Republic of China (Taiwan)

At the invitation of the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Ms. Fatou Mas Jobe-Njie, Minister of Tourism and Culture of the Republic of The Gambia, will visit Taiwan from July 30 to August 4, 2011.
Mr. Ssu-Tsun Shen, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China, will host a dinner in honor of the delegation. During Minister Jobe-Njie’s visit, her first to Taiwan, she will call at the Government Information Office, Council for Cultural Affairs, Tourism Bureau, and National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism. The trip will provide an opportunity for the delegation to gain a better understanding of Taiwan’s tourism policies and channels for training tourism personnel.
In the meantime, a cultural performance group from The Gambia has also been invited to attend the Global Indigenous Peoples Performance Arts Festival, which is sponsored by Taiwan’s Council of Indigenous Peoples and runs from July 25 to August 4. The Gambian group will sightsee and perform in Taipei, Hualien and Pingtung. Minister Nobe-Njie will also attend the dinner party for the opening ceremony and two performances (one each in Taipei and Pingtung). (E)
