At the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China, Mr. Denis Jacquat, Vice Chairman of the Taiwan-France Friendship Group of the French National Assembly, will lead a six-member delegation to Taiwan from September 4 to 7, 2011.
During the delegation’s visit to the Republic of China, it will have an audience with Vice President Vincent C. Siew, and call at the Legislative Yuan, the Government Information Office, the Mainland Affairs Council and the Council for Cultural Affairs. Moreover, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Lyushun Shen will host a welcome luncheon in their honor. The delegates will also visit the HTC Corporation, Long-Shan Temple, National Palace Museum, Taipei 101 and National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall.
Vice Chairman Jacquat is a long standing friend of Taiwan who has spared no effort in supporting Taiwan’s broader participation in international organizations. This trip will provide him and the other members of the delegation with the opportunity to witness the changes in cross-strait relations and help foster closer bilateral relations between Taiwan and France.(E)
