Delegation from Slovakia National Council to visit Taiwan

At the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Mr. Franti?ek ?ebej and Mr. Juraj Droba, respectively the chairman and vice chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Slovakia’s National Council, will visit Taiwan from November 7 to November 12, 2011.
The delegation will call on Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs Mr. Lin Sheng-chung, Administrative Deputy Minister of Finance Mr. Tseng Ming-chung, Deputy Minister of the Mainland Affairs Council Mr. Chao Chien-min, and Deputy Minister of the National Science Council Mr. Chen Cheng-hong. To welcome the delegation, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Lyushun Shen will host a luncheon in their honor.
The delegation will also call at the Legislative Yuan, the National Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, AU Optronics Corp., Hsinchu Science Park and the Institute of International Relations at National Chengchi University. They will also visit Taipei 101, the National Palace Museum, National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, Huahsi Street night market, Longshan Temple, and the Northeast and Yilan Coast National Scenic Area, as well as attend a performance of the traditional opera Legendary Lion Dance at Taipei EYE.
This visit aims to enhance parliamentary exchanges between Taiwan and Slovakia and to provide the delegation with a better understanding of the most recent political and economic developments in Taiwan, as well as cross-strait relations. (E)
