Delegation from the Czech Chamber of Deputies to visit Taiwan

At the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan), a four-member delegation from the Chamber of Deputies in the Parliament of the Czech Republic, led by Vlasta Parkanova, Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies, visits Taiwan from November 19 to November 24, 2011. The delegation also includes: Marek Benda, MP and Chairman of the Czech Republic-Taiwan Friendship Group; Hana Orgonikova, MP; and Radim Vyslou?il, MP.
The delegation will have an audience with Vice President Vincent Siew, and call on Vice President of the Legislative Yuan Tseng Yung-chuan, Minister of Finance Lee Sush-der, Deputy Secretary General of the National Security Council Liu Chih-kung, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Lyushun Shen, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs Lin Sheng-chung, and Deputy Minister of the Mainland Affairs Council Dr. Kao Charng. The delegation will also visit the National Palace Museum, Taipei 101 and Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, among other sites of cultural and economic interest. Vice President of the Legislative Yuan Tseng Yung-Chuan and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Lyushun Shen will both host luncheons in their honor.
Except for Mr. Marek Benda and Mr. Radim Vyslou?il, this is the first time for the delegation members to visit Taiwan. Being here will give them a better understanding of Taiwan’s current political, economic and cultural developments, as well as cross-strait relations. (E)
