Nationals of the following countries are eligible for an eVisa when they meet relevant criteria: Armenia*, Bahrain, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colombia*, Dominica, Ecuador, Haiti, Kazakhstan*, Kuwait, Mauritius, Montenegro, Oman, Panama, Peru, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye*, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan*.
*Note:
- Colombian nationals must provide a valid visa or resident certificate issued by a Schengen country, or a valid resident certificate or visa valid for more than 180 days issued by the United States.
- For the period March 31, 2026, through March 31, 2027, nationals of Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan must provide a valid visa or resident certificate issued by a Schengen country, or a valid resident certificate or visa valid for more than 180 days issued by the United States.
- Nationals of Armenia, Colombia, Kazakhstan, or Uzbekistan invited to visit Taiwan by an ROC central government agency or to attend an international conference or other activity organized, co-organized, or sponsored by an ROC central government agency are eligible to apply for an eVisa. In such cases, the host organization is to contact the Bureau of Consular Affairs to apply for an Ecode for the intended eVisa recipient.
- Türkiye: Only holders of ordinary passports and special passports will be eligible for an eVisa. Eligibility will be adjusted on a rolling basis in accordance with bilateral agreements and the principle of reciprocity.
Furthermore, nationals from all foreign countries who have been invited to attend international conferences, sporting events, trade fairs or other activities in Taiwan—organized, co-organized, or sponsored by the ROC central government agencies—are also eligible for an eVisa. Such foreign nationals must obtain an Ecode from the host organization in Taiwan (n.b., not the Bureau of Consular Affairs) prior to submitting an online application for an eVisa. Nationals of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea are only eligible for an eVisa when participating in sporting events in Taiwan.
In accordance with the Project for Simplifying Visa Regulations for High-end Group Tourists from Southeast Asian Countries, group tourists from Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam visiting with travel agencies designated by the Tourism Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, are eligible for an eVisa.
Nationals of Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Iran, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka visiting for business purposes at the recommendation of overseas offices of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council are eligible for an eVisa.
Foreign nationals who intend to travel to Taiwan but are not eligible for an eVisa must fill in a form under General Visa Applications on the website of the Bureau of Consular Affairs and submit this application form to an ROC overseas mission.
