When should I replace my passport?

  1. The passport has been stained, damaged or is unfit for use.
  2. The passport photo does not resemble your current appearance.
  3. Your Chinese name has changed in accordance with the law.
  4. Your National I.D. Number has changed or you have a new number.
  5. Defects are found due to the issuer's neglect.
  6. The passport is valid for less than one year.
  7. The format of passport is not the most recent.
  8. The holder deems a replacement necessary and has obtained approval from the Competent Authority.
  9. An e-passport holder changes one of items recorded in the data page.
