In light of growing bilateral exchanges, the governments of Taiwan and Poland signed an agreement on cooperation in science and higher education on July 27, with the aim to further enhance related collaboration and joint endeavors.

Under the agreement, Taiwan and Poland will work together to boost exchanges and cooperation between university students, postdoctorates, scholars, and scientific and educational institutions. People of both nations will be encouraged to pursue their education, undertake research projects, and participate in workshops, seminars, and other related activities in the partner country. This instrument will also facilitate scholarship programs and teaching opportunities for language teachers in the partner country.

Poland, the largest country in central Europe, boasts a sound infrastructure, rapid economic development, and a solid foundation for scientific research and advanced higher education, rendering it an important base for Taiwanese businesses seeking access to central and east European markets. The two countries enjoy robust substantive relations, underpinned by steadily growing economic, trade, and investment cooperation, as well as frequent exchanges in higher education. They have achieved great success in educational collaboration, including scholarship programs, university alliances, visits by researchers, and joint research projects. The agreement sets a milestone in scientific and higher educational cooperation between Taiwan and Poland.
