What documents do I need to prepare when applying for a resident visa by way of marriage to an ROC citizen?

Required documents:

  1. Transcript of complete family household registration of the ROC citizen concerned issued within the past three months, which includes information on your marriage, nationality, date of birth, and name (same as passport).
  2. The original and a copy of the certificate of marriage registration issued by your government and authenticated by an ROC mission abroad. If you are from a country that does not have a marriage registration system, the certificate of marriage shall be submitted.
  3. Police clearance issued by your government within the past year and authenticated by an ROC embassy, consulate or mission with jurisdiction over the place of issuance. If the document includes an expiry date, it should be submitted before that date.
  4. A health certificate issued within the past three months either by one of the accredited local hospitals (list attached) or by a licensed foreign hospital or clinic.
  5. A passport still valid for more than six months with empty pages. And copies of basic-data page of passport are also required. 
  6. A properly completed visa application form. You need to first access the website https://visawebapp.boca.gov.tw to fill out application form online and print it out with the bar code.
    • You must sign the form to confirm that the information you have provided is true.
  7. Two 2"x2" photographs 
    • *Photographs must be taken within the last six months, in color and with a white-color background.
  8. Other supporting documents depending on your purpose. 
    • Interviews will be arranged for applicants from designated countries, or in certain individual cases.
