How to apply for residence for the purpose of studying Mandarin Chinese in Taiwan?

You have to apply for a visitor visa for studying Chinese (visa code: FR) at an ROC overseas mission before entering Taiwan. If you have already studied for four months and has continued to be enrolled for three months or up at a Chinese teaching institute affiliated with a university or college accredited by the Ministry of Education, you may apply to the National Immigration Agency for residence for the same purpose in Taiwan.
