Resident Visa for Volunteering
REQUIREMENTS DESCRIPTION
Application form Please complete an online application form(https://visawebapp.boca.gov.tw/). Print out the barcoded form and sign it.
Two color passport-size (45 mm in height and 35 mm in width) photos taken within the last six months Photos must have a white background.
Passport (original and photocopy) Passports must be valid for at least six months and have blank pages. Please photocopy the passport information page containing your photo as well as your last visa for Taiwan.
Approval letter from the central competent authority or its authorized agency (original and photocopy; original will be returned after verification) E.g., an approval letter issued by the central competent authority or its authorized agency allowing volunteer service of more than six months.
Health examination certificate (original and photocopy)
  1. Health examination certificates must have been issued within the last three months by a hospital designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare for foreign nationals or by an overseas hospital. Foreign certificates must be authenticated by an overseas mission of the Republic of China (Taiwan).

  2. For checkup items and hospitals that perform medical examinations, please see the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control website.

Other documents as requested Determined on a case-by-case basis.  

Application Procedure

  1. Submissions are to be made to an overseas mission of the R.O.C. (Taiwan).

  2. If necessary, the overseas mission may request an interview.

 

Notice

  1. In accordance with the Statute Governing the Issuance of R.O.C. Visas in Foreign Passports and its enforcement rules, the issuance of visas is a sovereign power of the state. The government of the R.O.C. (Taiwan) has the right to refuse to grant a visa without explanation. The visa application fee is nonrefundable, even if a visa is not granted.

  3. Individuals in possession of a resident visa shall, within 30 days of the day following their entry to Taiwan, apply with the National Immigration Agency service center in their county/city of residence for an alien resident certificate and reentry permit. The period of residency shall end with the expiration of the alien resident certificate.
