Guidelines for Visa Applications to the Republic of China (Taiwan) for Polish Citizens Joining the Working Holiday Scheme

1. Qualifications:Applicants are qualified if they meet the following requirements:
   1. Being a Polish citizen residing in Poland at the time of application;
   2. Never being a Working Holiday maker in Taiwan;
   3. Being between the ages of 18 and 30 inclusive on the date of application;
   4. Not being accompanied by spouse or dependants, unless they are also in possession of working holiday visas.
2. Required documents: 
   1. An online completed, printed out and signed ROC (Taiwan) visa application form ( available at https://visawebapp.boca.gov.tw) for the Working Holiday Scheme;
   2. A Polish passport issued not earlier than ten years before applying for a visa, having at least two blank pages and valid at least 90 days after planned date of leaving Taiwan ;
   3. Two colour passport-size photos taken within 6 months;
   4. All-risk insurance covering them for accidents at work and for healthcare, including all medical costs and hospitalization, for the full duration of their stay in Taiwan;
   5. A non-criminal record;
   6. Proof of financial support at least €4000, or rather €2500 plus a valid return or onward flight ticket;
   7. Non-refundable application fee of €74.
3. Application procedures: 
   1. Applications must be made in person;
   2. Applications must be submitted to the Taipei Representative Office in Poland.
   3. Applicants may be requested to provide additional documents or to be interviewed as necessary.
4. Type of visa issued:
   1. Type: Visitor Visa; 
   2. Validity: One year from the date of issue, good for multiple entries;
   3. Duration of stay: 180 days, extendable for another 180 days.
   • An extension of up to 180 days can be applied for, 15 days prior to the expiry of stay, at the National Immigration Agency service center in the city or county of residence in Taiwan. 
   • The total duration of stay can not exceed one year from the date of entry into Taiwan. 
   • No further extensions or changes of visa type will be permitted thereafter.
5. Notice:
   1. Participants in the Scheme are permitted to engage in temporary employment during their visit and should not work for a total period of more than six (6) months during their visit; 
   2. Participants in the Scheme are not permitted to engage in any study or training for a total period of more than six (6) months during their visit.
